Comorbidity of Depression and Alcohol Use Disorders. Hauppauge, New York: Nova Science Publishers, 2009, 198 pages.

Major depression is a prevalent mental disorder in the general population and that has become a major disease burden on societies worldwide. Population – based studies have consistently found that women are more likely to have major depression than men; the prevalence of major depression peaks during adolescence and decreases with age. Major depression is often comorbid with other mental disorders including alcohol dependence and comorbidity has been found to complicate diagnosis and treatment.
