Acculturation and Acculturative Stress have been shown to be important factors in understanding the mental health of immigrants and ethnically diverse groups. This study is the first examination of the role of acculturation, acculturative stress, and depression in the Haitian population residing in the United States. Results from the study revealed that age, gender, and acculturative stress accounted for significant variance in depression levels. Implications for practice and research are discussed.
