Ioana Todor is a lecturer in Psychology at the University of Alba Iulia, Romania. She received her MSc in Psychological Counseling and Psychotherapy from “Babes-Bolyai” University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The topic of the thesis was “Memory Inhibition of Alcohol-Related Words in Alcohol Dependent Individuals”. In 2009, she defended her Ph.D. dissertation on Directed-Forgetting of Social Stereotypes. She was awarded a research scholarship by the University of Copenhagen, Center of Visual Cognition (September 2005 – March 2006). Dr. Todor is a member of the Romanian College of Psychologists and the International College of Affective Neuroscience. She has published articles in The Journal of Psychology: Interdisciplinary and Applied, Cognition, Brain, Behavior, Annales Universitatis Apulensis - Series Paedagogica-Psychologica, etc. Her current research interests include: cognitive inhibition and mental suppression of unwanted thoughts, social stigma associated with mental disorders, cognitive particularities in alcohol dependence and, generally speaking, applications of cognitive psychology in education.
